Estudio anatomopatológico de masas renales

Introducción: las masas renales son un grupo biológicamente heterogéneo de tumores que pueden ser benignos o malignos. El carcinoma renal representa el 85 % de las masas sólidas.
Objetivo: describir los resultados anatomopatológicos de las masas renales en pacientes operados mediante cirugía laparoscópica e identificar la posible relación entre los subtipos histológicos y otras variables.
Métodos: estudio observacional, analítico, de cohorte, retrospectivo en una serie de 120 pacientes operados mediante nefrectomía radical y parcial laparoscópicas, del universo con masas renales, tratados entre 2015-2020. Se empleó estadística descriptiva y para correlacionar variables el t de Student y Ji cuadrado (p>0,05).
Resultados: edad promedio 58,2 años. Predominó el sexo masculino (65,8 %), el diagnóstico incidental (64,2 %), los pacientes ASA II (45,8 %) y las masas de complejidad R.E.N.A.L baja/moderada. El 85 % de las masas fueron malignas, en estadio pT1a (53,9 %) y fue significativo que la mayoría fueran operadas por nefrectomía radical (p=0,03). La supervivencia cáncer-específica fue 98,8 % y el tiempo de seguimiento 26,6 meses (±1,97). La mayor edad de los pacientes se asoció a la malignidad de las masas (p=0,0). La supervivencia y el tamaño tumoral no se relacionaron con los subtipos histológicos (p>0,05, respectivamente)
Conclusiones: predominaron las masas renales malignas, entre ellas el carcinoma células claras, lo que se asoció con el aumento de la edad. El tamaño tumoral y la supervivencia no se asociaron con los subtipos histológicos.
