Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y longitudinal sobre el comportamiento clínico - pidemiológico de la Tuberculosis Pulmonar durante los años 1994 - 2000, en el municipio Los Palacios. La muestra la conforman 25 pacientes con el diagnostico positivo, que son reportados por la Unidad Municipal de Higiene y Epidemiología. De ellos, 16 pertenecen al sexo masculino (64 %) y 9 al sexo femenino (36 %). El análisis de los resultados se basó fundamentalmente en un análisis de porcientos y proporciones, estos fueron agrupados en tablas para ilustrar mejor los resultados obtenidos. Se concluye que la operación jubilado prevalece con 8 casos (32 %) seguida por /ama de casa /y /obrero/. De los 25 casos con diagnóstico positivo, prevalece la no asociación de tuberculosis con enfermedades crónicas o debilitantes, presentándose solamente 2 casos con Insuficiencia Cardíaca (8 %) y un caso asociado a Diabetes Mellitus (4 %), uno al SIDA y uno al Alcoholismo Crónico. Mas de la mitad de los casos (60 %) se diagnostican en la atención secundaria, predominando los bacilos de Kosh negativos (BK) negativos, con 19 casos (76 %). La manifestación clínica más frecuente es la tos (92 %), seguida de la expectoración (18 casos, que representan un 72 %). La prevalencia es de 6,25 por cada 10000 habitantes.
