Comportamiento de la curva nictemeral en pacientes con hipertensión arterial. Behavior of nycthemeral rhythm in patients suffering from hypertension

Se analizaron el comportamiento tonométrico, la curva nictameral y el examen oftalmológico en pacientes hipertensos, glaucomatosos y sanos. Fue estudiada una muestra de 150 pacientes provenientes de la consulta externa del Hospital Abel Santamaría de Pinar del Río en el año 1999, distribuidos en estos tres grupos, a los cuales se les realizó un examen oftalmológico y tema de la tensión ocular cada tres horas durante 24 horas. En el grupo sano se encontró que la mayor proporción entró dentro de la categoría de normales con una curva nictameral dentro de los parámetros normales y solo un 4 % de la muestra sospechosa de padecer glaucoma. En el grupo de hipertensos encontramos que los valores de la presión intraocular y la variabilidad dieron cifras mas altas que en los pacientes normales, un 24 % de la muestra fue sospechosa de glaucoma y de ellos el 16 % tuvieron diagnóstico positivo de esta enfermedad.
