Antropometría materna y bajo peso al nacer en embarazadas del Policlínico «Hermanos Cruz». Maternal anthropometry and low weight at birth en pregnant women. “Hermanos Cruz” outpatient clinic
Abstract
Se estudiaron 119 embarazadas del policlínico «Hermanos Cruz» de la Ciudad de Pinar del Río, en el periodo comprendido de 1991 a 1993, con el objetivo de determinar su evolución nutricional, la frecuencia de bajo peso al nacer y su relación con la antropometría materna. En el análisis de los datos se utilizó la estadística descriptiva, el análisis de varianza y el test de correlación lineal con un nivel de significación de P<0,05. Los resultados mostraron una alta frecuencia de riesgo nutricional en las embarazadas, un comportamiento adecuado de la ganancia de peso durante el embarazo y a su vez una alta incidencia de bajo peso al nacer. Existió también una relación efectiva entre la antropometría materna y del recién nacido, destacándose el peso y la talla de la madre, que influyen significativamente en el peso del mismo.
