Las pruebas serológicas en el diagnóstico de la leptospirosis.

Se realizó una investigación descriptiva con el objetivo de definir la realización de las pruebas serológicas en 146 pacientes egresados con el diagnóstico de leptospirosis durante el año 2001, en el Hospital General Univesrsitario "Abel Santamaría", y de precisar además las edades y sexo más afectados en nuestros pacientes, así como sus municipios de procedencia. Sólo se realizó la hemaglutinación pasiva (HA) en cinco paciente y la microaglutinación en dos, siendo sólo hecha las referidas pruebas en siete enfermos (4,79%). Las edades más afectadas fueron de 15 a 59 años, predominando ampliamente el sexo masculino y siendo el municipio cabecera de la provincia, Pinar del Río, el que presentó el mayor número de casos.
