Se ha realizado un estudio descriptivo en los 18 pacientes ingresados por fractura de mandíbula en el Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico Docente Abel Santamaría Cuadrado de la provincia Pinar del Río en el período comprendido entre los años 1999-2001, con el fin de señalar el tratamiento aplicado a cada uno de ellos atendiendo al tipo de fractura y grado desplazamiento encontrado, obteniéndose como resultado mas significativo que todas las fracturas han sido tratadas conservadoramente, la fijación intermaxilar a través de diferentes procederes, fue el métodos de tratamiento conservador más aplicado, y no se reportaron complicaciones postoperatorias.
