An analysis of a strategy in dentistry service for Primary Health Care. "Raul Sanchez" outpatient clinic-2002
Abstract
National Cuban System includes a very developed Primary Health Care System where the family doctor is the main exponent that works in close relation with the dentist. To achieve these purposes the family doctor counts on a strategy of dentistry assistance in the community. The objective of this paper was to identify the level of organization and function of the strategy for dentistry assistance in Primary Health Care. Surveys were applied to Family Doctors, Dentists and the population belonging to "Raul Sanchez" health area in order to assess knowledge and the application of the dentistry strategy in the community; observing among the main results that: dentists were able to apply the strategy, even though they had difficulties in its application but the Family Doctors presented difficulties regarding knowledge and application of the strategy which affected the level of satisfaction of the population with the dentist's services in the community.
