Survey and observational methods were comparatively applied in two periods separated by a training course. 21 nurses were included.
Results: the early diagnosis produced an average qualification of 66.2 points, while the final one produced 84.5 points; (X2 McNemar=18.05; p=0.0001) raising the level of knowledge about the nurses’ performance regarding the management of endoscopic surgery after the training course elaborated from detected learning needs.
Conclusions: the quality of performance was managed to be evaluated and maintained in the nursing personnel working in the surgical unit, regarding the correct practicing of the techniques of minimal-access surgery, achieving better care of the patients and elevating their quality of life.
