Abstract
Se realizó una investigación descriptiva, observacional, analítica e intervencionista con el objetivo de identificar los resultados alcanzados en el Proceso Docente Educativo en el Primer Semestre del Curso 2006 _ 2007, en la Carrera de Medicina, las estrategias trazadas para alcanzar estos resultados y los logros y deficiencias en la Sede Universitaria Municipal de Ciencias Médicas de Mantua, adscrita a la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas "Dr. Ernesto Che Guevara de la Serna" de Pinar del Río, Cuba. El universo del trabajo lo constituyeron los 144 estudiantes de dicha Sede, siendo la muestra los 9 estudiantes de Primer Año de la carrera de Medicina que comenzaron sus estudios en septiembre de 2006. Se utilizaron técnicas de la estadística descriptiva, utilizando los datos obtenidos de los archivos del departamento de Secretaría Docente y del Vicedirector Docente de la Sede Universitaria Municipal de Ciencias Médicas de Mantua. Los principales resultados alcanzados son la creación y preparación metodológica de un Claustro de Profesores categorizado, la reestructuración de la prestación de la asistencia médica a la población y la asignación de un mínimo de horas para impartir docencia por estos médicos-profesores, la caracterización por el Consejo de Dirección de la Sede Universitaria Municipal de Ciencias Médicas y su profesor guía, de los 9 estudiantes que comenzaron en Primer Año de la Carrera de Medicina, y las estrategias locales para lograr la residencia de los estudiantes en el pueblo de Mantua, cercanos al laboratorio construido para recibir las clases y para mejorar los resultados académicos obtenidos.

ABSTRACT
A descriptive, observational, analytic and interventionist study aimed at identifying the results obtained in the educative-teaching process on the first academic term of the course 2006-2007 in the Medical Major was carried out. The strategies planned to obtain these results, the achievements and deficiencies at the Municipal University Venue in Mantua were taken into account, this venue is affiliated with " Ernesto Guevara de la Serna " Medical School in Pinar del Rio, Cuba . The whole sample was constituted by 144 students enrolled in this Venue, but only 9 students of the 1st academic year beginning medical studies in September 2006 were part of the final sample. Descriptive statistical methods, data obtained from the files of the Teaching Secretariat and Vice-director of the Municipal University Venue of Medical Major in Mantua were used . Among the main results were: the methodological preparation of the Teaching Staff, restructure of the medical assistance to the population, the assignment of a number of minimal hours to be taught by these medical-professors, characterization of the Municipal University Venue , opinions the guide professor had about the 9 students enrolled in 1st academic year of medical major, local strategies to achieve the residence of the students in Mantua town near the laboratory built to take lessons and to improve the academic results obtained.
