Abstract
Se realiza un análisis sobre los factores que influyen en la fijación de los conocimientos en estudiantes de pregrado. Para ello se ejecutó un estudio observacional descriptivo de corte transversal mediante una prueba de aprovechamiento de carácter diagnóstico, aplicada a 47 estudiantes pertenecientes a las brigadas 47, 48, 49 y 50 de segundo año de la carrera de Medicina de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas "Dr. Ernesto Che Guevara" de Pinar del Río que asistieron a la conferencia introductoria de Genética Médica para diagnosticar la preparación con que llegan los educandos a nuestra rotación así como sus principales dificultades en los hábitos de estudio, para poder trazarnos las direcciones y estrategias de trabajo. El 70,21% del total prefieren estudiar las asignaturas que menos relación guardan con la genética; de los alumnos evaluados con 2 puntos la mayoría (70%) no estudia siempre en el mismo lugar y prefieren el horario nocturno, el 60% lo hace acompañado y el 50% estudia por un espacio de 2 horas únicamente. De la muestra, el 74,47% autovalora de bueno su desempeño como estudiante y aunque algunos no tienen una adecuada orientación vocacional, la mayoría ofrece sugerencias válidas para su consideración.

ABSTRACT
A study on the factors influencing on the strengthening of knowledge in pregraduate students is carried out with an observational descriptive and cross- sectional study doing a performance test in 47 students in the 2nd academic year of the Medical Science at "Ernesto Che Guevara de la Serna "in Pinar del Río who attended the Introductory Lecture on Medical Genetics. They were evaluated for finding out their difficulties in the study habits in order to design a working plan. From the total of the students 70,21% prefer those subjects non related to Genetics, from the students evaluated (2 marks) most of them (70%) do not study in the same place and prefer to do it at night, 60% study accompanied and 50% do it during two hours only. Out of the sample, 74,47% consider that their performance as students is good and although some of them do not have a proper vocational orientation, most of them give valid suggestions to be considered .
