Mucoabración. Técnica de tratamiento de la leucoplasia bucal. Mucoabrasion. Treatment Technique for Bucal Leucoplasia
Abstract

ABSTRACT
A study aiming to know the effectiveness of the use of Mucoabrasion technique, before an incisional biopsy, was carried out in a sample of 40 patients with leucoplasic lesions of oral mucosa of 2 cm long or more. They were assisted at Freyre Andrade General Hospital, Ciudad de la Habana. Results of the treatment were analyzed. Clinical evolution of the operated patients was described while comparisons with the previous studies dealing with other techniques, especially cryosurgery, were established. The mucoabrasion technique has many advantages such as patient evolution with no complications (100%) and no recurrence (97%). It represents a new technique requiring little effort and few costs for any maxillofacial surgery service of our country.
