Cáncer de mama. Tres métodos diagnóstico. Breast Cancer. Three Diagnostic Mrthods
Abstract
Se realiza un estudio retrospectivo donde se revisaron las historias clínicas de 183 mujeres operadas por Cancer de Mama en el Hospital Provincial "Abel Santamaría" de Pinar del Río, en el periodo comprendido desde el 1 de abril de 1991 hasta el 30 de abril de 1996. Se extrajeron los datos del examen físico, mamografía y citología aspirativa con aguja fina, con el objetivo de conocer el comportamiento de estos métodos en el diagnostico del Cancer de Mama; verificándose que el examen físico fue positivo de malignidad en el 78,14%, seguido de la citología aspirativa con el 75,17%, la mamografía fue poco indicada. Se evidenció que la realización de estos tres métodos diagnostico constituyen un arma a utilizar para la detección precoz del Cancer de Mama.

ABSTRACT
A retrospective study of 183 female patients operated of breast cancer was carried out at Abel Santamaria General Hospital, Pinar del Rio, between April 1, 1991 and April 30, 1996. Medical histories were reviewed to obtain data about physical examination, mammography and aspiration cytology, in order to know the usefulness of these methods in the diagnosis of breat cancer. According to the results of physical examination, 78,14% was positive, while 75,17% was detected by the aspiration cytology. Preferibly, in most of the cases, cytology was not indicated. These three diagnostic methods are very useful in the early detection of breast cancer.
