Theoretical foundations that support the professional improvement of the family doctor in the management of the elderly with hip fracture

Introduction: today the professional improvement of family doctors in the management of the elderly with hip fracture and its foundations is addressed, a need marked by one of the main challenges for primary health care: population aging.
Objectives: to systematize the theoretical foundations that support the professional improvement of family doctors in the management of the elderly with hip fracture.
Methods: an exhaustive and complete search of updated information of the last five years on the subject to be investigated was carried out, the scientific information was consulted in high-impact electronic journals and in scientific content platforms according to the field of health such as: OVID, SciELO, Lilacs, Dialnet, Google Scholar, Redalyc; 11 of the works consulted were referenced. Theoretical and empirical methods were used: analysis-synthesis, systematization, hermeneutic-dialectical, scientific observation and documentary analysis.
Development: the philosophical, psychological, pedagogical and sociological foundations are systematized, which support the process of professional improvement of family doctors, as a way, to manage and systematize knowledge and skills on the management of the elderly with hip fracture and their relationship direct or interrelation with the improvement of their professional performance.
Conclusions: the present article allowed to systematize about the theoretical foundations of the process of professional improvement and towards the improvement of the professional performance of the family doctor in the management of the elderly with hip fracture.
