Role of the reviewer in the Cuban Journal of Health Technology

Introduction: scientific journals, in order to maintain ethical standards and good practices in the international scientific community, work under editorial policies. The Cuban Journal of Health Technology, in the editorial process, checks the originality, relevance, and novelty of the articles.
Objective: to describe the activity of the reviewer in the Cuban Journal of Health Technology in the period from 2020 to 2023.
Methods: a cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out on the activity of the reviewers of the Cuban Journal of Health Technology, in the period 2020-2023. The population was made up of the 32 reviewers (without sampling). Variables that described the characteristics of the journal's body of reviewers and the work carried out were studied, based on data taken from the journal's platform, processed using descriptive statistics.
Results: the most common scientific degree among reviewers is doctor of science, with 15 (46,88 %). The total number of accepted articles was 239, representing 76,11 % of those peer-reviewed and 30,45 % of those submitted. The year with the most rejected articles was 2023 with 61,33 %.
Conclusion: the reviewer's activity was described in the Cuban Journal of Health Technology in the period from 2020 to 2023. This will be beneficial for the quality of the review and will constitute a substantial link in the scientific publication, when it comes to achieving impact. desired in current quality standards.
