Analysis of the Selective Dissemination of Information in the Library of the University of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río

Introduction: Selective Dissemination of Information is not a service that can be applied manually; it requires the use of automatic means to establish the highly complex relationships that exist between the needs of users.
Objective: To determine the current status of the selective information dissemination service in the Library of the University of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río.
Methodology: Technological innovation type research where research methods, procedures and techniques were used, both theoretical and empirical, as well as mathematical-statistical methods such as: analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, bibliographic review and documentary analysis. Based on the theory of Leticia Artilles.
Results: obtaining the analysis of the current state of the selective information dissemination service in the Library of the University of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río.
Conclusions: it is evident the importance of computerization projects in this field, as well as the use of electronic and automated means, digitization and data processing, for the progress and growth of Selective Information Dissemination services.
