Information management of the Vaccination Program at the University Polyclinic “Luis Augusto Turcios Lima”

Introduction: the difficulties generated by information management in enterprises represent a problem faced by modern society.
Objective: to determine the current state of information management of the Vaccination Program at the Luis Augusto Turcios Lima University Polyclinic of Pinar del Río Province with the use of Information and Communication Technologies.
Methods: a technological innovation type research was developed, using theoretical and empirical methods such as the historical-logical method that made possible the study of the background of information management, the analysis and synthesis method that was applied during the whole research process to reach the knowledge of information management, delimit the essential elements and its most general essential characteristics, the study has and confidential character due to the security norms, obtaining the consent of the participants.
Results: the main result of this research is a proposal for a computer prototype for the computerization of vaccination at the Luis Augusto Turcios Lima University Polyclinic in Pinar del Río. An exploratory study identified a group of shortcomings due to limitations in the search and updating of vaccination cards, shortcomings in managing information on patient vaccination immediately, with the possibility of printing the results and notifications of the same.
Conclusions: the information management of the vaccination program at the Policlínico Universitario Luis Augusto Turcios Lima shows deficiencies.
