Rubric for the evaluation of the Family Medicine resident in his practical examination for promotion

Introduction: the rubric constitutes a set of parameters that allow the process or final product of a given task to be assessed.
Objective: design a Rubric for the evaluation of the Family Medicine resident in his/her practical promotion exam.
Methods: an educational and developmental research was conducted at the General Health Directorate of the Cacocum municipality, Holguín province, Cuba, from January 2024 to September 2024. The population included the 24 teachers of the Family Medicine residency faculty in the municipality. For the selection of the sample, an intentional non-probabilistic sampling was carried out, which finally consisted of 22 teachers, who gave their consent to participate in the study.
Results: they determined the criteria of the teachers regarding the evaluation process of the practical exam for promotion in the residency of the specialty of Family Medicine, on the basis of which it was designed an analytical rubric for the assessment of skills, validated by expert criteria.
Conclusions: sand offers a rubric for the evaluation of the Family Medicine resident in his practical promotion exam as a way to improve the assessment of skills, validated by expert criteria.
