Introduction: Continuous improvement in nursing practice is oriented toward the renewal of knowledge, the strengthening of technical competencies, and the consolidation of ethical principles, with the purpose of recognizing and addressing difficulties linked to professional performance, thereby fostering both professional growth and human development. Objective: To design a postgraduate course for nursing professionals on Oropouche prevention. Methods: A descriptive study was conducted at the "Hermanos Cruz" University Polyclinic in Pinar del Río during the first semester of 2025. Theoretical-level methods were used for theoretical foundation and data collection, along with empirical methods such as document analysis, questionnaires to professionals, and the application of educational techniques. Expert judgment was also employed to evaluate the designed course. Results: The assessment of learning needs among the selected professionals revealed a knowledge deficit in the subject. Consequently, a course was designed for nurses working in primary health care, focused on Oropouche prevention. The course included content on the specific features of virus prevention, the role of nursing in preventive care, and community integration in professional practice. Conclusions: The objectives and content of the training program were aimed at achieving superior performance among nursing professionals regarding the identified problem. According to expert evaluation, the course was deemed appropriate for implementation.
