Cirugía ambulatoria en el cancer de mama. Etapas I y II. Ambulatory surgery in breast cancer. Stages I and II

Se intervinieron quirúrgicamente 129 personas con el diagnóstico de cáncer de mama en etapas I y II en el Hospital Docente Clínico "Abel Santamaría Cuadrado" de Pinar del Río en el período comprendido entre el primero de enero de 1995 y el 31 de diciembre de 1998. La intervención se realizó de forma ambulatoria en 47 pacientes y las restantes 82 pacientes fueron intervenidas en el transcurso de su ingreso hospitalario, siendo los grupos etáreos mas frecuentes entre 41 y 50 años así como las mayores de 70. Las pacientes se encontraban fundamentalmente en los estadios I y II - a de la enfermedad y fueron operadas por cirugía conservadora. Las complicaciones no infecciosas predominaron y el costo por paciente en las enfermedades ingresadas superó mas de dos veces a aquellas operadas ambulatoriamente. La cirugía ambulatoria mostró superioridad desde el punto de vista biopsicoeconómico.
