To publish in Revista de Ciencias Médicas de Pinar del Río

To publish in Revista de Ciencias Médicas de Pinar del Río, authors must follow the "Uniform requirements for manuscripts sent to biomedical and health sciences journals", which are established by the International Committee of Journal Editors. Medical (CIDRM). Papers must be written following the publication format established by the magazine for each of the sections, otherwise the Editorial Committee reserves the right of non-publication. The journal is open access, and does not request payment for article submission or editorial processing.

The reception and registration of the work is only the initial step of the editorial process for its selection and does not imply acceptance for publication. Each original article and brief communication must be accompanied by the databases used to carry it out, this being an essential requirement for its publication.

The article submission process will be carried out completely online (from the journal's Internet space) by filling in, the authors, all the metadata available for this purpose. Electronic submission saves time and postage costs and facilitates the handling of the manuscript in the different phases of the editorial process (for example, when sending it to external reviewers). To submit a manuscript electronically, consult and follow the instructions for journal authors on the Revista de Ciencias Médicas de Pinar del Río website.

Receiving the papers through the online submission system implies agreeing with the journal's policy which, among other purely technical points, raises the following rigorous and ethical aspects:

2-The article complies with the bibliographic and style requirements indicated in the rules for authors, which can be found in “About the journal”.

3-The documents cited in the text are issued by authorized sources such as: prestigious organizations recognized by national or international organizations; national or international scientific journals that allow the data of the articles to be consulted through the Internet, either in databases or directly on the site of the scientific journal itself; or books and other documents that offer elements that identify authors or publishers responsible for the content used.

4-The main author of the manuscript is responsible for all its contents and declares that there are no plagiarisms, conflicts of interest or ethical conflicts, releasing the journal Revista de Ciencias Médicas de Pinar del Río from any such commitment.

5-This journal provides free and immediate access to its content under the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global knowledge exchange. This means that the authors transfer the copyright to the journal, so that copies and distribution of the contents can be made by any means, as long as the recognition of their authors is maintained, they do not make commercial use of the works and they do not make any modifications to their content.

Journal Anti-Plagiarism Policy

Authors are asked to declare, through the letter of originality and assignment of rights, that they own the moral rights over the paper and that it has not been sent for review or published, partially or totally, in any other national or foreign journal. If it has been deposited in any preprint server or in any congress, this should be made clear at the time of submission. The signatories are solely responsible for ensuring that their contribution complies with these requirements.

The editors of the journal perform the plagiarism detection process using the StrikePlagiarism and Turnitin systems before being accepted or rejected to the editorial process. In addition, the editors will use it before starting the editing and proofreading process of the articles and will check the bibliographic references to detect possible plagiarism. If the percentage of similarity between texts is significant, it could be plagiarism, in which case the authors of the paper will be contacted to clarify the circumstances or to evaluate the rejection of the paper.

If a previous version of an article has been published previously, this should be expressly indicated in the notes. The new version should have substantial novelties and be motivated to its recovery. The journal will reject articles that are plagiarism, informing the authors and their institutions; as well as establishing regulations to the authors involved for their access to the journal.
