Situs inversus totalis diagnosed at the Spanish Bolivian Hospital in Patacamaya, Bolivia

Introduction: the situs inversus totalis is a rare congenital malformation that can affect various organs and has a hereditary character.
Clinical case: situs inversus totalis was diagnosed for first time in a patient treated at the Spanish Bolivian Hospital in Patacamaya, La Paz Bolivia; he presented abdominal pain and underwent abdominal ultrasound. The clinical method, electrocardiographic and imaging studies were applied to the conduct the diagnosis.
Conclusions: situs inversus goes unnoticed in the majority of the cases, in most patients the diagnosis is reached incidentally, as in this patient.
