The methodological work in the implementation of Comprehensive Dentistry Care discipline

Introduction: the methodological work in Dentistry studies, allows focusing attention on basic contents for the achievement of essential objectives that ensure an adequate logical and pedagogical sequence, orienting the preparation of the student for the identification and solution of health problems in their fundamental setting of training.
Objective: to explain the importance of the methodological work for the improvement of the comprehensive training of the dentist students.
Method: the analysis carried out was based on the dialectical materialist approach because of its integrative and guiding nature of the system of theoretical, empirical and statistical methods, taking into account the criteria of the subjects participating in the study and the considerations related to the objective stated.
Results: the guiding character of the methodological work of the main integrative discipline is explained: comprehensive dentistry in the training of a professional model, determining its particularities from the epistemological approach, the interrelation between didactic and functional invariant components along with the administrative dimension of the teaching-learning process.
Conclusion: the methodological work of the group of the comprehensive dentistry discipline represented a change in the interpretation of the role of professors in the context of the new circumstances and needs, making the transition possible from a pedagogical-didactic competence to a strategic-specifying competence, focusing on the dynamics of the changes to a more flexible syllabus that sustains the transition to Plans D.
