Introduction: the design of eye prostheses is a process that requires great precision and skills therefore the personnel dedicated to these purposes needs to be trained regarding the procedures to follow, which can be done through a software tool.
Objective: to propose a tool for the assessment of procedures in the design of ocular prostheses.
Method: an applied research was carried out; historical-logical methods, induction-deduction and bibliographic review were the main methods used along with the application of a rule-based method to evaluate the procedure developed in the design of the prostheses.
Results: a tool is obtained for the assessment of the procedures developed in the design of ocular prostheses.
Conclusions: the computer tool is developed taking into account all the necessary procedures in the elaboration of eye prostheses, it will be a valuable support to train the staff concerning these procedures, it will also make possible to minimize the costs of the necessary products and the training of specialized personnel for the development of eye prostheses.
