Abstract
Se estudiaron 114 historias clínicas de pacientes ingresados en el servicio de Angiología del Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico "León Cuervo Rubio" de Pinar del Río con el Diagnostico de Pie Diabético, en un periodo que comprende de enero de 1995a diciembre de1996. Fueron analizadas una serie de variables como: tipo de lesión, sexo, edad, trataminto quirúrgico, estadía y reingreso, con el objetivo de contribuir al estudio de las complicaciones vasculares infecciosas de los miembros inferiores en estapatología, además de conocer la influencia del sexo, la edad, analizar la relación entre el tipo de diabetes y la lesión estudiada, así como el porciento que recibió tratamiento quirúrgico, estadía y reingreso. Se observo que las lesiones sépticas predominaron en el sexo masculino para un 59.42% mientras que el isquémico aumento en el sexo femenino representando un 68.89%. Cincuenta y cinco de los pacientes estudiados fueron sometidos a tratamiento quirúrgico con una estada promedio de 33 días pacientes.

ABSTRACT
A study of 114 medical histories of a group of in-patients with a diagnosis of diabetic foot was carried out in the Angiology Service at Justo Legon Padilla General Hospital, Pinar del Rio between January 1995 and December 1996. Several variables such as kind of injury, sex age, surgical treatment, hospital stay and re-admissions were analyzed in order to study vascular and infecctious complications of lower extremities regarding this patology. Besides, the influence of sex and age, the relation between diabetes and this kind of injury, as well as the percentage of patients that had surgical treatment, hospital stay and re-admission were analyzed. Septic injuries were predominant for males (59,42%) while ischemic injuries increased for females (68,89%). Fifty five of these patients had surgical treatment with a staying percentage of 33 days/patients.
