The formation of communication skills in medical students as an essential need of the medical professional

Introduction: communicative skills are a necessity for the medical professional, however, in the training process there are deficiencies that partly originate from the lack of importance given by educators and students to the training of communicative skills.
Objective: to argue the importance of communication skills training in medical students.
Methods: the general dialectical-materialistic method was used. Likewise, a space is dedicated to the conceptual analysis and its characteristics.
Development: concepts of communicative skills are presented and their importance is argued with different reasons.
Conclusions: the importance of the formation of communicative skills in medical students for their professional performance is recognized, taking into account the modes of action currently demanded by society.
