Introduction: the process of formation of professional skills is essential in the formation of the student of Stomatology, since it allows the formation of a professional with a broad profile, with values and skills that allow him/her to achieve full mastery of the mode of action required by the national health system in the process of formation of skills and multidisciplinary interrelation, in order to provide comprehensive stomatological care to the population.
Objective: to elaborate a didactic strategy to improve the process of formation of professional skills in Stomatology students.
Methods: an observational and prospective research was carried out. In order to achieve the proposed objective, the dialectical materialist method was applied as a basis, in addition to the theoretical methods: historical-logical, analysis and synthesis, modeling and structural systemic, empirical methods: documentary analysis, observation, surveys and interviews.
Results: in the didactic strategy elaborated, the limitations detected in the process of formation of professional skills in which teachers and students play a fundamental role as essential components of the teaching-educational process were considered, detecting that there are still gaps that affect this formation process.
Conclusions: the didactic strategy contributed to the improvement of the process of formation of professional skills and socialization of experiences as important factors in the planning of methodologies focused on the Stomatology student.
