A system of teaching activities to strengthen the moral value of responsibility in first academic year of medical students

Cuban current university implies changes to train comprehensive professors along with students that feel they have leading roles in the teaching-learning process and in the education at work. An exploratory diagnosis by means of an interview was conducted. An observation guide was applied to the medical students of the first academic year at "Turcios Lima" University Outpatient Clinic. Several inadequacies regarding the moral value of responsibility, not as satisfactory as it was expected, were identified. This research paper was aimed at designing a system of teaching activities which contribute to the strengthening of responsibility as a moral value. Applying theoretical and empirical methods to make possible the reinforcement of the teaching-learning process for students to assess, to feel responsibility, to express views points, to state their own initiatives and to develop competences to face up the problems safely and independently; where the teaching staff must be seen as guides, models of the future professionals, examples to be followed; because only under these conditions, the education supported on the formation of moral values can be developed in university students.Downloads
