Method: a descriptive and retrospective study with a target group that included all women with histopathological diagnosis of breast cancer that were recorded on Pathological Anatomy Book of the above mentioned hospital (N = 604), and the sample included patients with breast cancer histologically confirmed (n = 352); age, tumor size and histological features were considered according to the degrees of Bloom-Richardson's classification system.
Results: the largest tumor diameter was 2-4.9 cm, the majority of the cases histologically diagnosed presented duct carcinoma, and the greatest incidence of tumors occurs between 55-64 years old (21.9%).
Conclusions: breast cancer is commonly detected in Pinar del Río province among women between the fourth and seventh decades of life. Nodules measuring less than 5 cm. and the variety of duct carcinoma were the most frequent.Downloads
