Evaluation of Renal Functioning in Patients suffering from sickle cell anemia
Abstract
DeCS: ANEMIA DE CELULAS FALCIFORMES, HEMOGLOBINOPATIA, INSUFICIENCIA RENAL CRONICA.
A study on renal functioning was carried out in a sample of 20 patiens suffering from sickle cell anemia. It was proved that the lack of concentration capacity is the alteration most frequently found, followed by anomalies of urinary sediment no dependent on infection. While analizing the relation between the renal parameters evaluated and the clinical-hematological variables used in the follow up of the patients, no statiscally significant correlation was found in any case. It shows it is imposible to evaluate renal repercution on patients suffering from this disease based upon the development of the parameters commonly used in the follow up.
DeCS: ANEMIA, SICKLE CELL, HEMOGLOBINOPATHIES, KIDNEY FAILURE CHONIC.
