Methods: an educational intervention study was conducted. The universe consisted of 73 adolescents, between 13 and 19 years of age; from which a sample of 35 adolescents was selected, through the simple random method. Data collection was carried out by means of an initial survey validated by expert criteria, which was reapplied after the educational intervention.
Results: the group of male adolescents between 16 and 19 years of age predominated. At the beginning of the research, an inadequate level of knowledge about alcoholism was found in each of the topics covered.
Conclusions: the educational intervention was able to favorably modify the level of knowledge of at-risk adolescents, demonstrating the effectiveness of the educational program.
