Bibliometric study of the Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río journal.2013-2015

Introduction: the periodic evaluation of a serial publication through bibliometric indicators allows to obtain objective results and to observe it strends.
Objective: to carry out the scientific production of the Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río journal.
Methods: a descriptive, longitudinal and retrospective study was done. The simple taken were the 353 articles published in the period 2013-2015. From the descriptive statistics, the absolute frequencies, the percentage and the average were used. The results obtained were presented in tables and graphs for their better interpretation.
Results: it was increased the number of published articles, the received appointments and the stocking of articles by fascicles. For sections its howed increment from the Letters to the Director, the Articles of Present time in the Social Sciences, Humanities and Pedagogic, as well as the Collaborations of Professionals. Specialist's of I Degree and the Másters, the educational category prevailed of Assistant, as well as the category investigative Investigator Attaché, proceeding in its majority of hospital institutions.
Conclusions: after analyzing some bibliometric indicators applied to the articles published in the Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río journal it may be considered that the results are satisfactory. The recommendations derived from these results will allow improving the management and the visibility of the articles from this communication space.
