Managerial skills of the managers of the General Directorate of Health of the Cacocum municipality

Introduction: management skills are approaches and methods of management that correspond to the personal organization of the leader's work and with styles associated with achieving leadership.
Objective: to determine the managerial skills of the directors of the General Health Directorate of the Cacocum municipality.
Methods: observational, descriptive, cross-sectional research, in the Cacocum, Holguín province, Cuba, in the period from June 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024. The universe included 36 managers, belonging to the General Directorate of Health. For the selection of the sample, an intentional non-probabilistic sampling was carried out, finally it was made up of 30 managers, who gave their consent to participate in the study. Reliability was obtained by calculating Cronbach's Alpha, in the SPSS Program for Windows version 28.
Results: most of the managers have a low academic level. As to the evaluations obtained in determining managerial skills, the majority presented an evaluation of Good. However, there was an evaluation of Regular and Poor in a considerable sample. The highest ratings were observed in the dimension of emotional skills.
Conclusions: the managerial skills analyzed from the self-perception of the directors of the General Directorate of Health of Cacocum, have been evaluated as good in their majority and the dimension of emotional skills presented the best evaluations.
